This is a very ambitious piece and you are juggling with a lot at the same time. I strongly recommend looking up references especially for underwater settings and illustrations. Use a 3D model for the character to help with posing and anatomy because the pose you have is very difficult without strong fundamentals on figure drawing and perspective. Do more studies and observations on 3D forms, planes and how lighting affects them so that you know where to add lighting and where to add shadows. For your character to pop, you'll need to show some contrast in some way, I chose to use more value range and made the background darker in some areas while making the character brighter, you have some contrast in your original but you should try and push it more while also increasing the value range you use, don't be afraid to go darker. For underwater elements that can help immediately is adding more bubbles. It is also very important to understand how to render water , how the atmosphere of being underwater works. So, you can look up how to render transparent materials since water is transparent, look up how to render refraction of light through an object, and also how layers of water changes when stack with each other (more water= darker blue because it's harder for light to go through). Foreground elements can be bigger, darker and you can add a blur effect to make it look like it's out of focus. Also the composition feels very empty on the top part so I moved the character upwards a little. Underwater settings are usually very tricky and difficult to execute, but I hope you can figure out how to continue with this piece more and continue working on it! | Artwod Feedback
