Hey! I think one of the main issues is that the lighting direction hasn't been clearly established. Because of that, it's difficult to know where the shadows should fall, which makes the lighting feel a bit inconsistent. For example, you have cast shadows on the bodies, but the faces, especially the one you've already started rendering, still look fairly flat. So, the first thing I'd do is establish a clear light direction. I think the main light is coming from the left. If painting lighting from imagination feels difficult, use references. Whether it's photographs, another artist's work, or even yourself with a lamp to study the shadow shapes, references are incredibly helpful. There's also the Asaro Head tool on ArtStation, which lets you experiment with different lighting directions. I included the Asaro Head reference that I used while painting over your illustration. It helped me define the volume much more clearly. Also, try to avoid painting the teeth as pure white. Teeth aren't completely white, and neither are the eyes. Using pure white for both can make the characters look a bit unnatural. On another note, I'd also recommend defining your style a bit more clearly. Personally, I find it a little conflicting because the woman on the left is being rendered in a semi-realistic style, while other parts of the illustration lean more toward a stylized approach. Seeing both styles mixed within the same illustration feels a bit inconsistent to me, hehe. Hope this helps! :) | Artwod Feedback
