Hey! Nice work so far! :) It's a solid start, but I'd recommend spending a bit more time analyzing the forms of your subject, in this case, the turtle. There's nothing wrong with tracing over your reference, as long as you're doing it to analyze the simple forms you can build from it and to understand the flow of the organic shapes, especially in areas like the neck. The example I added in red is what I traced directly over the reference to better understand its organic structure. One thing I noticed is that the neck follows a clear S-curve. That observation made it much easier to draw the neck from a low angle: I started with the S-shaped gesture first, then built the volume on top of it. Hope this helps! :) | Artwod Feedback
