Hi Hi! You dont have to go overly cartoony to have an expressive face but you do have stylized art. Here, my key recommendation is to experiment with different styles, including semi-realistic. In this manner, you can prevent your expressions from coming across as cartoonish. There are two ways to use a semi-realistic style: very stylized or very realistic. It provides much opportunity for experimentation and the development of a distinctive style. Big eyes are a key component of a cartoonish aesthetic, thus I mostly reduced the size of the mouth and eyes in your input. Being outspoken without going overboard would already be beneficial. The remainder is mainly about experimenting with methods, so if you are interested in trying something new, I strongly advise you to search for artists who create semi-realistic or stylized work. Hope it helps, have fun exploring! Looks like a fun character!
