Hi hi! Very cool style! Color suits nice! Creating backgrounds in a traditional media format demands a bit more planning above hand unless you want to be experimental with trying things out. I am proposing you develop little thumbnails initially before entering into the creation of final art. They can be small, quick sketches where you work out alternative viewpoints, colors or just backgrounds. They help us to overcome situations like this before any commitment. I can't advise exactly what you can add because it's primarily on your invention and your concept of such artwork. Here I made pretty simple green fields and blue sky but you may maybe play with patterns, add frames, add text if you wanna say a message etc. Possibilities are unlimited and that is why we employ a thumbnailing stage to decide out composition, colors, and framing. There is also an option to try finishing traditional paintings in digital medium. You can still apply all this stage and have a lot more freedom without overdrawing same thing. Hope it helps!
