Hi hi! Cool idea! I like posing as well! First we have to determine the light source. We can use his purple/pink power and place it under the hand.Arrange the shadows on multiple layer, match the core shadow to the character elements, and use a neutral color for the shadows (typically warm for cool light and cold for warm light). You can experiment with textures on the drawing's light side during the finishing touches. Over flat hues that should not be overly bright or dark, both must be balanced (not too dark or too saturated). Try to keep processes very simple for yourself. These things can get complex very quickly so make sure that for each step you have separated layers. For now, since you are a beginner in coloring, keep it simple. Cell shading is good to start with before moving into paintings. You can practice with simple geometric shapes with different light sources. Beginning with 3 simple values: light, midtone and dark. Later on you can expand on more after you get a strong understanding of these first. Make sure you check Artwod videos regarding values, form manipulation for figure and cell shading. They go in depth with explanations and providing good workouts with steps. Hope it helps!
