Hi Hi! Ace looks nice! I like the pose and mood you went for. A good start of learning backgrounds would be from simple to complex. Here is my suggestion on how you can show depth quickly. Simple backdrops can be made by adding simple gradients, ambient blurring, huge brush shapes for structure, and a new layer behind the actor. Beneath your character layer, always make a new layer for the background. For each phase, it is crucial to use layers to keep things straightforward and tidy. I will use a basic color for the background. Create a basic sky using a gradient tool. Since the color scheme was leaning toward sunset, I took this picture. When drawing huge, basic shapes—in this case, clouds—be sure to use a large brush. To add light and dark areas, use a low-opacity brush. Pay attention to the direction of the primary light source. To make distant things appear farther away and less distracting, apply a blur filter (such as Gaussian Blur). Make sure you dont go too far with detailing near the end because our main subject here is character and emotion. Anime tapped into similar scenes many times so make sure you check it out! Hope it helps!
