Hey there! I’m still learning too, so this is just my impression. I don’t think the shoulder is necessarily wrong. A lot of things already work well, especially the face and the hair design. What makes the shoulder feel a bit off to me is that the upper torso doesn’t fully support the same orientation in space. The torso reads a bit flatter and more frontal than the shoulder seems to suggest, while the shoulder implies more of a 3/4 turn. Because of that, the forms feel slightly disconnected. I see something similar with the hat: the band suggests a cylindrical form, but the hat itself reads flatter than the brim suggests. I made a quick draw-over to show the orientation I’m seeing and to suggest more volume in the torso and at the top of the hat. My suggestion would be to practice basic forms like boxes and cylinders in perspective freehand. Not for perfect construction lines, but to train the intuition for how forms sit in space. After that, mannequin drawing could be useful, because it applies those same basic forms to the figure. | Artwod Feedback
