Hey! I'll build on what Mochi already mentioned. They're absolutely right—when we're beginners, we often think that the key to making something look good is adding more detail, when in reality, the details are just the cherry on top. So, rather than focusing on memorizing every muscle, I'd recommend learning their basic shapes and how to simplify them. I may have recommended this artist to you before, but someone who has helped me tremendously understand simplified anatomy is Michael Hampton. Check out his YouTube channel or look up his work on Pinterest. Learn from the way he approaches anatomy. Instead of focusing on muscle fibers or other fine details, he emphasizes the simple, structural forms of the muscles. On top of that, if you also learn shape manipulation (which is one of the core pillars of Artwod), you'll already have about 70% of a solid foundation (not literally, of course!), especially when it's combined with a solid understanding of simplified figure drawing and proportions. I'm not an expert in figure drawing or anatomy myself, but learning the basic forms and understanding how to manipulate shapes is what has helped me the most when drawing muscles from imagination. Hope this helps! :) PS: The hands are small, ignore them lol | Artwod Feedback
