This was a rougher drawing day for me but still good practice I think. I couldn't decide what I was in the mood to draw, but I wanted to tackle some of my weaknesses in head structure, so I looked some more into the loomis head method. There are a couple main areas of struggle for me 1. My line quality is poor because I consistently get too hasty with my line placement. I have to slow down far more than I would like if I want my lines to be clean. Mostly I need to insist to my self that every single stroke needs to be considered before it is placed. That patience is definitely something I have been building over time. 2. My circles and ellipses are far too inconsistent. I was trying my best to ghost in the circles and ellipses, but I only got what I wanted a small percentage of the time. This badly affected my loomis heads, because the heads' measurements would distort with a poorly drawn sphere, and an awkward ellipse would completely change the perspective of the head. I also find it exponentially easier to draw a head that looks masculine compared to a feminine looking head. It seems to be that very nuanced and miniscule changes finally amount to a feminine appearance. I'd love to be able to control that well. What I want to prioritize right now is exercises for drawing circles and ellipses. I am far more confident with straight lines compared to curved ones, so that will be my target for exercises.

Rendering lighting issue under a spotlight setting

Colours might be too intense now but it seems the paper cant take anymore of the water colour without tearing whats a good way to practice lighting like this in the future?

Crow Knight

Hi, I’m Arta. I’m new to digital art, and I’m looking for honest feedback and criticism from other artists. This is a fan art piece based on an illustration by the artist Govy titled “Crow Knight.” I recreated the image from a top-down perspective, and I’d also appreciate feedback on my blending technique. Chibi chubby cute boy drawing. The anime chibi body is unproportioned and all weird.

How to draw anatomy for chibi better and cuter. My crayon and pen sketch isn't expressive enough. The arms look pointy and the eyes look creepy. The anime character is supposed to have a big body but I'm struggling to not make it not off centered but still make it a chibi looking body. This is an anime boy.

Dynamic anime girl looks stiff. The character pose could be more dynamic.

I'm trying to make a gesture that she is jumping quickly and pulling out a flaming sword but there's no perspective in the character pose. Background ideas too would add to the dynamic too. To sketch this anime i used colored pencil and online editing tool.

My anime character silhouette is too simple, but also i want the negative space to look better.

Sketch of my own anime character. Not loving the silhouette, but i like how the eye sticks out. Colored pencils, and pen. Does the blue make the silhouette simple or complicated? Maybe it should be more black.

My anime sketch looks okay. You can't tell the character design is an elf. Not sure what more to add, or what approach to take with the eyes. How can i make the colors less dull. What else would make it better? Feedback appreciated. Using colored pencils.
