Hi there, sorry for the delay! What helps me a lot with this exercise is the vertical and horizontal contour lines that I drew in the example. That way it is easier to check if there is enough thickness in the bends etc. I think your studies would benefit a lot from making it clearer which part of the cilinder is closest to us, so one end will be wider than the other.
