This is such a cool design! I don't have too much to add, really. What I really liked seeing was the strong colour variations you made on the right, however in the final design you added a lot of other colours as well (greens, yellows, browns, blues). Colours automatically come with associations that we make, so having a lot of very different colours in one character might blur the message they are trying to send out. So if I'd have to comment anything, I would try to keep the range of colours more limited and have a design that feels more like a whole instead of more seperated parts, through colour.
