How do you go about painting metal/armor? When I try it usually ends up looking cartoonish, and it doesn't fit my style well, but I don't know where to start when it comes to realistically painting metal. Should I start lighter and add shadows or start darker and add highlights or??? I can copy a reference image but I have trouble applying it to my own armor designs and style. Any tips on the painting/rendering process would be very appreciated! | Artwod Feedback
