Hey! Loved this character and the illustration in general! Looks fantastic! :D I feel like just a few small adjustments could really help the illustration. Since we have two types of lighting here: the natural light coming from the window and the artificial light from the potion. I would darken the character a bit more to emphasize the “dark over light” contrast. After that, I’d adjust certain areas. For example, since the potion is positioned at about a 3/4 angle relative to the face, I would paint half of the face with the light coming from the bottle and keep the rest in shadow. You could still add a bit of light on the other half of the face to help bring out the volumes and avoid it looking too flat. It wouldn’t make much sense to add a pink rim light on the side facing the window, since the potion’s light wouldn’t reach that area. Instead, it would make more sense to add a rim light from the natural light, since that side is exposed to the window. Speaking of the window, I would slightly overexpose that area to create a brighter background and generate a stronger contrast between the character and the background. A bit more brightness in the smoke wouldn’t hurt either, especially in areas like behind the book; to help the character’s silhouette stand out more. And in general, just keep looking for strong value contrasts. Try to have darker values when the background is lighter, and lighter values when the background is darker.
