Hey there! It's looking really good so far! Overall, I don't see any major issues with the background. You can keep it simple by using just the silhouettes of the trees with a bit of detail to suggest volume. There's no need to fully render the background since it isn't the main focal point. What you really need to define and develop is the main subject: the raft. I couldn't do a proper paint-over because I don't fully understand the design yet, and I'm also not sure why there's a red light at the front. Is it coming from the inside or the outside? Is the interior open on both sides? These are things that need to be clarified. I recommend defining the design of the raft and drawing it properly before moving on to painting. Building a solid drawing first will save you about 70% of the work during the painting stage, since painting is mostly about bringing those forms to life with light and shadow.
