How to improve my proportions and form from imagination?

Hi everyone, I've been trying to draw the head, and I've made some good improvements with references (the two drawings from the right are from references). But I tried to draw the girl from imagination, I drew her twice in the same position, I noticed the first try lacked perspective and the proportions were off, so I tried a second try and I think it looks way better. But i'd like to know what you could advise me to improve the likeness from several angles since I want to animate as well, and also how to improve the second try and maintain consistent with my head drawing. At the moment is a ver hit or miss thing, even with structure. Though the references one are getting more consistent, despite failing sometimes.
