Gobtonio teaching the wodlins
I was given Rei's awesome sketch of the goblins learning how to draw, so that I could color it. Therefore the composition itself was already given and I kept it unchanged.
I did color the scene in and added highlights and shadows. I tried to define a direction where the main light source came from, even if it is not visible in the sketch. Then I wanted to adhere to the advise of making highlights a warmer hue than the base color, and the shadows a colder hue. I think for Gobtonio himself this has worked quite well.
Still I struggled a little with color selection. For goblins I found it fitting to go mostly for muted and earthy colors, but that made it hard to make the main character stand out. I tried to get around that problem by making his shading more detailed, and also giving him a few stronger outlines afterwards. Meanwhile I tried to keep the shading for the surroundings as simple and rough as possible. The halftones of the background wall were an experiment to have it structurally be distinct from the goblin(s).
Still I'd like feedback on how I did, and what I could do better in the areas of shadows, highlights, color selection, etc.
